dc.description	Welcome to the first progress report on the Statement of Strategy 2017-2019 which continues the work of the 2016-2019 Statement of Strategy. The 2016-2019 Strategy was originally published in December 2016 and was revised in line with obligations under the Public Service Management Act, following the appointment of a new Minister of State in May 2017. The actions outlined in the 2017 Statement remained consistent with the actions published in 2016. The Statement of Strategy sets out our twin objectives of providing evidence to support policy decisions and of working to empower the citizen with accurate, reliable and trustworthy information, supporting fact-based discussion, debate and opinion. The delivery of these objectives requires the CSO to deliver results across a complex suite of activities. Some of these activities require internal and structural change, while other activities focus on producing new and improved outputs for consumption by users across the spectrum, from expert policy analysis to interested citizens. The details of the work carried out to support these aims is outlined throughout this document.	en
