dc.descriptionInnovation 2020, Ireland’s whole of Government Strategy for Research and Development, Science and Technology, driven by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, has now reached the midway point from its launch in December 2015. The Strategy sets out Ireland’s vision to be a Global Innovation Leader (GIL) by 2020 through a combination of prioritising public and private investment in Research, Development and Innovation (RDI), enhancing the impact of RDI for enterprise and addressing human capital challenges to deliver on our RDI ambitions. This third Innovation 2020 Progress Report, prepared by the Innovation 2020 Implementation Group, outlines the advances made on delivering on the 140 strategic actions in Innovation 2020 in the 12-month period to June 2018. Many of these actions will be delivered over the course of the Strategy and beyond. 108 actions have been initiated or are ongoing, 18 actions have now been completed, 9 actions are experiencing delays and just 3 actions are yet to be initiated.en
