Abstract:
The research on the cross-cultural adaptation and analysis of the psychometric properties of the Cyber Aggression Questionnaire, framed within the Psychology Bachelor Degree at UCES, in collaboration with the Trinity College of Dublin, aims to found the Argentine version of the Cyber Aggression Questionnaire designed in Ireland by Corcoran and McGuckin (2014). One of the challenges that adaptations of instruments developed in other contexts present is the preservation of measurements of the construct in the languages and cultures involved. This paper describes problems, methodological resources and results obtained in the initial translation stage of the questionnaire from English to Spanish, which aimed at performing a rational and empirical analysis of the linguistic and semantic equivalence of the terms cyber aggression, cyberbullying and bullying with words in Spanish used by Argentine adolescents. It was concluded that adapting a questionnaire is a complex process that exceeds linguistic translation.
