dc.description.abstract | CORU are tasked with regulating social work in Ireland. This commentary responds to a debate
that is currently unfolding in Irish social work circles concerning an absence of the term ‘human
rights’ from the CORU Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics, something that has prompted much
criticism. It is argued here that much of this response has been ‘knee-jerk’ and that the debate must
be nuanced through the consideration of radical alternatives to ‘human rights’ | en |
