dc.description.abstract | The incidence of chronic kidney disease is increasing internationally with many risk factors for chronic kidney disease also being risk factors for type 2 diabetes. Nurses should use primary, secondary and tertiary prevention to minimise the incidence of chronic kidney disease when caring for individuals with type 2 diabetes. This article is the second in a two-part series on the interrelationship between these long-term conditions. Part 1 addressed the significance of using primary prevention to promote kidney health in adults living with type 2 diabetes; part 2 will discuss the use of secondary and tertiary prevention relevant to these long-term conditions. | en |
