The present dataset is composed of 5 different methods used for the measurements, characterizations, and analysis of our article: 1) X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS): This dataset describes the elemental composition and distributions of each component (C, O, and N) for high-resolution measurements and the survey of carbon model electrodes. The files are composed of two columns, corresponding to the Intensity (CPS) and Binding Energy (eV). This data can be analyzed by CasaXPS software. 2) Raman: This dataset contains the Raman data composed of two columns, the Intensity (a.u) and the Raman shift (cm-1), used to evaluate the banding energies and the Id/Id ratio. This data can be analyzed by CasaXPS and Origin software. 3) Atomic force microscopy (AFM): This dataset contains the AFM raw measured on ParkSystem AFM and can be analyzed by XEI software, used to evaluate the surface roughness and thickness. 4) Electrochemistry: This dataset describes the response of our carbon model electrodes for the improved kinetic of vanadium redox couple (VO2+/VO2+). Different methods have been used for the understanding of electron transfer kinetics of VO2+/VO2+ at carbon thin film electrodes, such as voltammetry (CV and LSV) and EIS. Each file has different columns identified as potential (V) and current density (mA cm-2) for the CV and LSV and Real resistance and Imaginary resistance (Ohm).
