European Capital of Culture is a designation of status and significance, nationally and internationally. Through this memorandum of understanding, we acknowledge and celebrate the importance of this moment in the cultural life of Galway, Ireland and Europe. It is our shared ambition that together we can ensure that, during 2020 and beyond, the powerful potential of this nomination is harnessed for the long term benefit of all.
