The purpose of this policy is to set out the procedure which will be required when a Data Subject exercises their Right of Erasure under Article 17 of the GDPR which is also known as ‘the right to be forgotten’. The broad principle underpinning this right is to enable an individual to request the deletion or removal of personal data, subject to certain exemptions where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing. This policy will have limited implementation in the Adoption Authority due to the large number of exemptions that can be used for certain types of processing, which are highlighted below.en
