dc.description'Grose's Antiquities, Vol. I states that the original of this drawing by Angelo Maria Bigari was in the possession of the Rt. Hon. William Conyngham (1733-1796), who presumably lent it to Turner to copy. The original drawing by Bigari was engraved and published by M. Hooper in London on January 20th, 1794, at around the time it must have appeared in Grose's Antiquities. The drawing depicts a view from the western end of the nave of the two-storey arched support for the tower. Through the central arch, the east window is visible. The draughtsmanship is more impressionistic than careful. This abbey is at Ballindoon, County Sligo, Ireland.'
