dc.description | Fisher was a painter and engraver in Ireland, working after the Dutch and Italian landscape painting tradition. He is best known by engravings after his designs, of which a large number were produced during his career.[notes from Irish Paintings in the National Gallery of Ireland, 2001] Depicted here is the 12th century Cistercian monastery, Dunbrody Abbey. The illustration contains color notations in the upper right hand corner which relate to numbered areas of the painting. | en |
