Abstract:
As you have desired that I should report "On the present state of
the Law of Debtor and Creditor in Ireland, so far as relates to the part
of the proceedings which is subsequent to final judgment," I have most
carefully considered the subject, not merely in its legal relations, but
in its bearings on commercial credit and the social and moral condition
of the community; and in submitting to you the results of
my investigation, I have to beg your patient attention to details
which are so little attractive in themselves, and so remote from the
course of your ordinary reading, that I should despair of interesting
you in them, but for the great practical importance to society of an
inquiry affecting the ultimate object and result of all legal proceedings ?
the execution of the judgments of our courts of justice.
