dc.description | Elvery was a student at the Metropolitan School of Art, Dublin under the tutelage of William Orpen. She was a versatile sculptress, designer and painter associated with An Tur Gloine, the Society of Dublin Painters and the Royal Hibernian Academy. She later married Gordon Campbell, 2nd Baron Glenavy. The present still-life is signed with the monogram 'BG' in the lower left corner and inscribed with title and name, 'Lady B.
