dc.descriptionElvery was a student at the Metropolitan School of Art, Dublin under the tutelage of William Orpen. She was a versatile sculptress, designer and painter associated with An Tur Gloine, the Society of Dublin Painters and the Royal Hibernian Academy. She later married Gordon Campbell, 2nd Baron Glenavy. The present painting is typical of a number of imaginery scenes combining still-life objects and landscape painted after 1933.en
