Description:
Reverend Green appears to have been an amateur painter who was well known for his mountaineering exploits. He was educated at Trinity College, was ordained in 1872 and also served as Inspector of Irish Fisheries. He became a member of the Geographical Society in 1886. The present series of sketches is possibly from his successful ascent of Mt. Cook in the New Zealand Alps.Culture:
