dc.description | 'Oliver Grace of Gracefield, was born on the 6th of December, 1704, and dying at Kilkenny on the 24th of August, 1781, at 77, and was interred at Arles. He married, in December, 1733, Mary, only daughter and eventual heir to John Dowell, of Mantua House, who died at Gracefield, on the 14th of November, 1765, aged 55, and was buried at Arles. By this lady he had issue two sons, viz. Michael, of Gracefield, his successor, and John'. (J.N. Brewer, Esq. 'The Beauties of Ireland', Vol 2, London: Sherwood, Gilbert & Piper, 1826.) At the bottom of the engraving is a heraldic shield and an inscription that is as follows: 'Oliver Grace of Gracefield, Esq.Son of Michael Grace and Mary Galway of Lota. Ob. 1781 AE t. 77'.
