I do not propose tonight to deal with the whole question of Indian Railways; it would be too wide a subject. I wish to refer to the recently published Report of Mr. Thomas Robertson, who was formerly Manager of the Great Northern line in this country, and later on Chairman of the Irish Board of Works. He was appointed in consequence of general complaints, and also in connection with financial difficulties experienced in the development of the Railway system of India, and a perusal of his report has fully confirmed what I had learned elsewhere as to the failings of Indian Railways.en
