dc.description | Photograph by Roger Stalley. View of south transept showing south and east elevations. South elevation has triple lancet windows, the rere-arches of which are traded with annulets and foliate capitals resting on a stringcourse and a mural passage between the lancets. The lancets have roll-and-fillet arch mouldings and hood mouldings terminating in floriate label stops. The east elevation shows two pointed arches, with chamfered mouldings, of the entrances to two transept chapels with a trefoil headed niche in the spandrel between them and two rectangular windows high up overhead. The south-east crossing pier shows composite banded shafts, foliate and head carved capitals with filleted and chamfered ribs rising to the vaults. | en |
