dc.descriptionJohn Henry Campbell was considered one of the foremost Irish water-colourists of his day, although he also worked in oil. Having completed his studies at the Dublin Society's Schools he established himself as a landscape painter, contributing to most Irish exhibitions between 1800 and 1820. Several of his works are engraved.en
