This report draws on the full 2006 Census microdata file to examine the effects of belonging to groups who are disadvantaged according to the nine grounds identified in Equality Legislation (gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race and membership of the Traveller community). It examines the impact of group membership on five different outcomes: low education, non-participation in the labour market, unemployment, lower social class and lack of access to a car. It also illustrates the impact of belonging to more than one disadvantaged group.en
