Forfás and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation were requested to undertake this review of the potential of the social enterprise sector as part of the Action Plan for Jobs 2013. The report outlines that the social enterprise sector, which currently employs between 25,000 and 33,000 people in approximately 1,400 social enterprises with a total income of approximately €1.4 billion, has the potential to double by 2020.en
