Each alternative model of European economic integration would have a different impact on the Irish economy. The object of this paper is to briefly discuss their implications. The starting-point for this appraisal must be an assessment of the impact of the EEC on the Irish economy to date. This is the task of the next section. Subsequent sections take up the advantages and disadvantages of the alternative models of further integration.en
