Spin injection, transport and dynamics in organic semiconductors are of growing interest as the field of organic spin electronics begins to take shape during the last decade. This new field of research aims to manipulate the electron spin degree of freedom in organic based electronic devices, such as organic-light emitting diodes, organic field effect transistors, and organic radio-frequency identification tags. Organic materials offer the promise to future lightweight, low-power, and inexpensive electronics on flexible substrates.
