Abstract:
This is the tenth lecture in the course Water Technology dealing with household and small-scale treatment systems. This is a PowerPoint lecture which is free to use and modify. It was designed to be used in conjunction with the course text Gray, N.F. (2017) Water Science and Technology: An Introduction, published by CRC Press, Oxford. In the lecture the following are explored: small treatment system requirements, loadings, septic tanks, percolation areas, percolation tests, cesspools, grease traps, FOG, Fats oil and grease.
