dc.description.abstractThis chapter provides a review of the research knowledge in the area of cyberbullying. We first explore the important debate as to whether there is an overlap between traditional face-to-face (f2f) bully/victim problems and cyberbullying, or whether cyberbullying is a separate but linked phenomenon. From this, we explore the argument for an alternative approach to naming the issue we have been researching – that is, that a focus on ‘cyber aggression’ may be more appropriate. The wealth of useful research and applied knowledge is considered and conclusions are made regarding the need to move away from worrying about technology and to help children and young people develop coping skills.
