Although the role of managers in work-life balance (WLB) has drawn
increasing attention from scholars and practitioners, there remains a dearth of
critical inquiry into the complexities underlying their decision-making
processes. Given the considerable influence that managers have on their
staff's ability to balance personal and working lives, this remains a significant
gap in the field. Accordingly, the purpose of this thesis is to challenge existing
methodological frameworks and theoretical oversights guiding WLB research.
