dc.description(read before the Society, 25 April 2019) Symposium: The Economies on the Island of Irelandm p÷Gen
Looking at the post-War years, this paper considers how investment in education developed using different models and following different trajectories in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The result has been a very different impact on economic growth: increasing human capital made a major contribution to growth in Ireland since 1960, while in Northern Ireland the failure to make adequate investment in education is reflected in a continuing poor economic performance.en
