Abstract:
This article uses documentary analysis to examine how a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) can support children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in accessing a holistic education in mainstream primary schools. The research examines children with ASD, focusing primarily on communication and social difficulties in primary school, and how the role of the SNA is key to supporting these needs by utilizing appropriate interventions.
