dc.description.abstractThis mixed methods research study examines educators’ from Early Learning and Care (ELC) settings and primary schools experiences on working with children from a homeless background. The study sets out to explore the challenges homeless children face and what interventions can be put into effect to overcome the adverse nature of homelessness in the classroom. It also examines what supports educators need to help them be more effective in teaching children from a homeless background. This study highlights the correlation between socio-emotional difficulties and childhood homelessness. It also depicts the educator-child relationship can support and foster development which is why the educational facilities both ELC and primary schools are of utmost importance in supporting children overcome adversity.
