dc.description.abstractPrognosis in thyroid carcinoma is usually assessed on the basis of criteria, which include patient age and histological type, grade and stage of tumour. It is well recognised, however, that while occasional tumours with adverse histological features, such as necrosis or high mitotic rate, are cured, other seemingly well- differentiated ones may progress to a fatal outcome.
