dc.description.abstract | Since their discovery in 1991, carbon nanotubes have generated a lot of activity in
many areas of science and engineering due to their unprecedented superlative
mechanical, thermal and electronic properties. This combination of properties makes
them ideal candidates as additives for polymer composites with a multitude of
applications ranging from ultra-strong materials for bullet proof vests to flexible
displays and electronic paper. The main aim of our work is to develop new carbon
nanotube-polymer composites with enhanced mechanical and/or electrical properties. | |
