Description:
The purpose of this document is to set out the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation’s policy and procedures on Protected Disclosures in the workplace. This policy outlines the channels and procedures provided for reporting concerns. A concern which is not reported may allow the alleged malpractice to continue, to the detriment of the Department. The Protected Disclosures Act 2014 provides a robust statutory framework within which workers can raise concerns regarding potential wrongdoing that has come to their attention in the workplace in the knowledge that they can avail of significant employment and other protections if they are penalised by their employer or suffer any detriment for doing so. The Act requires every public body to establish and maintain procedures for the making of protected disclosures and procedures for dealing with such disclosures. It also requires that Public Bodies provide written information relating to the procedures established. The 2014 Act became operational on 15th July 2014.Corporate name:
