dc.description.abstract | Chiral amines have been the subject of much attention in view of their wide scope
of applications ranging from catalysts in asymmetric synthesis to intermediates for
pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Consequently, a great deal of methodology for
the preparation of such valuable compounds has been developed. Nature
accomplishes this task with efficiency in the case of the a-amino acids via the
transamination process which consists of the transfer of an amino group from a
starting amine to a carbonyl compound. | |
